Calvin & Hobbes: The Video Game by Johan Vinet

I have always had a soft spot for Calvin & hobbes, Bill Waterson's wonderful comic strip. I am not nearly as huge of a fan as my boy Joe Esq may be, but I know that lots of people have love for the little boy & his imaginary tiger. So whenever I come across something cool featuring these great characters, I have to post them on CCD. Artist Johan Vinet creates an excellent 16 bit version of the dynamic duo if they had been the lead characters in a Sega Genesis game, and the results are stupendous. Sean Hartter Is Back With More Faux Movie Posters To Blow Your Mind!!!

Sean Hartter is an excellent artist that has been featured here on CCD many times. He is also a cool guy who I have developed a cyber-friendship with over the past year. Some of my favorite pieces of his would have to be his Alternate Reality faux movie posters that he constructs using Photoshop. He mashes up some interesting actor/actress choices for the characters he is casting. In this post I am going to highlight some of his best Team Up posters. Lego Iconic Vol #14 by Jeff Bond

I am such a huge Lego nerd that words can not explain. Soooo I've decided to use my favorite blog site CCD as an outlet to get some of this stuff that I see every day, built out of bricks, out of my skull and onto the blogosphere where it can't hurt my cerebral cortex. Johnny & Uncle Bob by Ninja Ink

Artist Ninja Ink flips the Calvin & Hobbes buddy concept on it's ear with these awesome pieces depicting Johnny & his Uncle Bob from The Terminator series. I love these two pictures. Here is a brief synopsis from Ninja Ink's Deviant Art page talking about his fictionalized comic strip:

Johnny and Uncle Bob is a syndicated daily comic strip that was written and illustrated by American cartoonist James Cameron, and syndicated from October 26, 1984 to August 29, 1997. It follows the humorous antics of John, a foul mouthed six-year-old boy messiah, and Uncle Bob, his stoic robot friend. The strip depicts John's flights of fantasy and his friendship with Uncle Bob, and also examines John's relationships with his mother and psychiatrists. Uncle Bob's dual nature is a defining motif for the strip: to John, Uncle Bob is a cybernetic organism surrounded by living tissue; all the other characters see him as a time travelling villain.

Was Fight Club Really A Grown Up Version Of Calvin & Hobbes?

I had read this comparison awhile back, and I gotta tell you the whole thing makes perfect sense to me. The boys over at /Film (thanks for the photo guys!) found this great mashup video that pairs original clippings of the comic strip with the sounds of the original trailer from the David Fincher classic.
