31 in 31: Day 5 - Murder Party (2007)

This year to celebrate the Halloween month I have decided to watch 31 Horror Movies that I have never seen before in 31 Days... 31 in 31. I love Horror Films, but instead of watching the standard classics and usual fan favorites (trust me... I will watch many of them TOO!) I am going to venture out into some uncharted territory with my selections. Wish me luck....

Day 5- Murder Party (2007)

Title: Murder Party (2007)
Director: Jeremy Saulnier
Starring: Chris Sharp, Sandy Barnett, Macon Blair

My Review:

How this movie flew under my radar for over 10 years is beyond me. Director Sauliner and his cast members are all real life friends... and this was the attempt at making a film on their own. The result is pretty fantastic. A group of art students are trying to impress a wealthy patron in order to receive a grant. The idea is simple... they are gonna throw a Murder Party and whoever comes up with the most innovative way to murder a stranger will win! Unsuspecting Christopher finds an invite to the party and ends up the main course. Who will win the money?

This one is shot all over hipster Brooklyn, with some great street shots and Brooklyn faves. That adds to the dopeness of this one. Funny and smart, I highly recommend!

My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars
