'Alien:Isolation' Proves The Adage In Space No One Can Hear You Scream !!!

I am not the huge gamer I used to be, but when a game comes out that hearkens back to my youth I can't help but pay attention. This is definitely the case with Alien: isolation, the latest Alien video game from Sega. Coming off the disappointment of Aliens: Space Marines a few years back (that game looked super cool coming out but actually sucked balls) the team has gone back to the drawing board in terms of coming up with a new format for the game to take it back to the franchises roots. The first movie of the franchise used isolation to build the terror of the xemomorph creatures and how they were picking off the crew. So when this game decides to have you play as Amanda Ripley, Ellen Ripley's daughter... well it all starts to fall into place. She is looking for answers as to what her mom went through, and in her search for answers she stumbled upon something way worse... something with a egg shaped head and a mouth within its mouth! The game hits October, 2014... but for now jump after the trailer and see the cool teaser put together for E3...

Mondo Goes To Duckburg...

Mondo has plenty of interesting posters coming out of their operation in Texas, but sometimes I see what they have as an upcoming release and I get very excited. Today was one of those days, as they have teamed up with Disney to help promote the release of 'Duck Tales: Remastered'. DT: Remastered is a re-engineered version of the 1989 classic Ninetendo video game that is being released on all the major platforms (Xbox Live, Playstation Network, and Wii U). It will be an upgraded version of the classic game, featuring new voice transfers from original cast members of the TV show. As a huge fan of the original cartoon and someone who has logged in many hours on the NES game I am very excited, and was blown away by the four posters that Mondo created to celebrate the re-release of the game. The usual suspects are here for Mondo (Phantom City Creative, JJ Harrison, Anne Benjamin, and DKNG) and there are two variant editions also... but the price point on these are a bit lower than usual Mondo posters (until they get to Ebay... yeesh!). Click here to head over to the Mondo twitter and see if you can score some of these great posters (they will go on sale sometime on Wed Aug 28th), and click after the jump for a nice preview of the posters and a trailer for the new game...

The New Far Cry 3 Commercial Takes Us Back To The V/H/S Days Of the 80s....

I am a bit out of the look when it comes to the video game world, but I am not blind so I see the fantastic ads and game play footage that is constantly flooding mass media. Video games are big business... and the companies have to do something to stand out among the large groups of games getting released in order to score the consumers $60 bucks. So when my buddy Nunzio (an avid gamer and video game blogger himself) posted this Far Cry 3 game trailer on his Facebook account, I knew it had to be special. Now I preface this by saying that even though I have heard of the Far Cry franchise I personally have never played the game at all. But after watching this 3 minute trailer, I have to admit that this title might find its way into my X Box 360. The first person shooter channels the early 80s era of taping TV shows (with all the commercials) on a V/H/S and having Michael Biehn as the voice of the main character is a good way to gain my geek interest piqued. All in all, a great commercial whether or not you even play games like this. Far cry 3: Blood Dragon is due in stores May 1st 2013. Check out the commercial after the jump...

Injustice: Gods Among Us Combines The JLA With 1984

I always liked the stories where the superheroes are twisted into the authoritarian villains. They always start out with the best of intentions but in the end, being a hero is all about sacrifice, not control. I see things like this and I so wish I was a gamer who could totally get into the whole world and experience. With the footage they do have I wish someone could create a neat little computer generated feature of the story that is incorporated into the video game. Click after the jump for the trailer and some stills of the characters...

Lego Marvel Super Heroes... Yeah Buddy!!!

I have had the pleasure of playing many of the Lego games that have come out over the last few years (Lego Batman, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc) since my son absolutely loves them. He has been on the bandwagon for years, and I gladly purchase their newest releases year after year (I bought him Lego DC Heroes for Christmas). But when I saw some of the footage from their next game, Marvel Super Heroes, I have reached the pinnacle of love I can have for the company. The Avengers, Wolverine, Deadpool, and many other characters seem to be in the game. I really like that they have chosen to use the movie versions of the Avengers (that is Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye right there son...) over some of the comic versions. The early footage looks great, and you can see it after the jump. I know I will be on line with my little buddy Mikey to purchase it as soon as possible. The game is due sometime in Fall of 2013, so keep your eyes peeled for the next great game from a great company...

Lego 'Lord of the Rings: Can Anything be Any Cooler Than This Game?'

Wow. Just wow. I have been hearing about the Lego game based on the Lord of the Rings trilogy and I must say that after seeing this trailer I am truly blown away. These Lego games keep getting better and better, and I love the humor of this particular ad. Nice touch by having Gandalf narrate the commercial as well... Check out the trailer after the jump!
