Snoopy x Enemy Ace: I Would Read The SHIT Out Of This Comic!!!

Our good buddy Ross has created many awesome "alternate reality" comic book covers over at his awesome Super Team Family blog. These are just spectacular, and his creativity always shines through... especially when he digs deep into the archives to come up with a worthy team up. My favorite Christmas song ever is "Christmas Bells" by The Royal Guardsman, that continues the story of Snoopy taking on the Red Baron in World War II. I always loved the storytelling of the song, and it was always cool to me to see Snoopy in the roll as a fighter pilot. So Ross decided to incorporate an old faithful DC Comic character in Enemy Ace, and match him up with Joe Cool. What a great idea, and it works so well. I loved the most recent inclination of Enemy Ace (Enemy Ace: War In Heaven by Garth Ennis) and Christmas just passed (so I was listening to the Royal Guardsman like crazy) so I had to share. Great moments In Christmas Song History Vol #2: Snoopy's Christmas by The Royal Guardsmen

I love Christmas songs... I really do. I love that the day after Thanksgiving 106.7 FM begins a month long, 24 hour a day Christmas music blitz. All Christmas songs, all the time. But even though I like the usual suspects (who doesn't like All I Want for Christmas by Mariah... C'mon), I tend to skew in a more obscure direction for my holiday favorites. Over the next few days I plan on sharing some of those choices with you. Today we will take a look at the exploits of Snoopy as he battles his old nemesis The Red Baron in the Christmas Classic Snoopy's Christmas (Christmas Bells) by The Royal Guardsmen. Charlie Skywalker, Fighter Pilot

Check out this very cool sculpture by artist Tom Torrey of Charlie Brown as Luke Skywalker in his X Wing fighter pilot suit. Pretty cool, no? Ya gotta love Snoopy as R2-D2 as well. This sculpture was a personal gift for a friend, but Torrey has an ETSY store where you can buy some of his art. Very cool stuff as well. Enjoy.
