Recreating Classical Paintings Through Geek Interpetations

On my travels around the 'Net yesterday I came across an awesome Norman Rockwell inspired Spiderman/Green Goblin painting that blew my mind. Upon further review I found a plethora of these geek recreations over at the Tor.com blog, and each one was more and more innovative than the next. The Painted Masterpieces of Daniel James Cox

When my man Jeff Bond forwarded me a link telling me that "These paintings should be hanging up in Tony stark's art gallery", I knew they were going to be impressive. What I didn't know was that I would be sitting here with MY FUCKING MOUTH ON THE FLOOR at just how awesome Daniel James Cox's work really was. The subjects are super hero based, but these classical type paintings class up the whole super hero genre beyond belief.  Don't believe me??? Take a look for yourself after the jump...
