So another great CCD Retrospective finally comes to an end (this one was a long, arduous journey just like the ones taken in the films!) and we use this third episode of the series to discuss the existing first two Hobbit films and talk about the anticipation of the third film that will cap off the film series. Jedi Rob, Joe Milazzo and Mike D are back for one more go round, and we discuss the highs and lows that Peter Jackson second trilogy go through. The CCD Podcast: Episode #35 - The Definitive Tolkien Film Retrospective Pt. 1 or "There Was A Basement... And In That Basement There Lived A Podcast!"

It wouldn't be Christmas without another Hobbit movie, and this year we are getting the epic conclussion to the 3 part film series with Battle of the 5 Armies. In honor of J.R.R Tolkien, Peter Jackson and the 6 specatcular movies we know and love so much (and other ones we don't love that much at all) we our doing one of our patented "CCD Retrospectives" with a definitive look at the Tolkien cinematic universe. In part #1 we delve into teh books, our experiences with Tolkien, and the original animated films of the late 70s. We will be following it up with Pt #2 (the three Lord of the Rings films) and Pt #3 (The first two Hobbit films) next week. But lets start this thing off right. The CCD Podcast: Episode #32 - The Michael Keaton Retrospective or "I'm Batm... er, um, Beetleju.... er, um.... BIRDMAN!!!!"

There are a few actors that come along in a lifetime that just engulf you with their presence on the screen. For anyone in the 35-40 year old range right now, one of those guys has to be Michael Keaton. I mean, come on... this guy has played not ONE, but TWO INSANELY important roles to the youth of the 80s: Beetlejuice & Batman! Yup, that is two monster roles... yet they only scratch the surface of the work that Keaton has done. The Dream Team, Night Shift, Mr. Mom... Clean & Sober, My Life, Jackie Brown... the list goes on and on. So for us here at CCD he was the perfect subject for our first individual based retrospective. We talk all things Keaton, big roles and small, and bring it all full circle to his current role as the title character in Birdman. If we are going to talk any movies here at the CCD Podcast during the month of October we are going to have address the Halloween franchise. Considering the fact that co-founder of the podcast Jedi Rob is absolutely OBSESSED with the franchise, it is not a surprise that he has chosen the epic horror for one of our patented CCD Podcast Retrospectives!!! Jedi Rob grabbed our old buddy Steven Graves and good friend and old time contributor to the CCD Blog Kristen "KMG" Grillo to break down all of the movies, sequels, prequels, tv edits, remakes, outtakes, and anything else that makes up John Carpenter's signature franchise. This first installment of the Halloween Retrospective sees the gang take on Halloween I & II, both involving our good buddy Michael Myers... and they also delve into Hallloween III: Season of the Witch, a highly misunderstood movie that suffered from the lack of big bad Myers inclusion in the film. All in all, a great first start to the Halloween Retrospective.
