CCD Links It Up Vol #14

It is around that time of the week when I share a bunch of cool links with you guys from my travels around the web. You see, we make magic over here at CCD... I am aware of that. But there are plenty of other outlets around the web that are doing big and giving us some great info. We are going to stop by Cinema Blend to check out 5 movies you should really want to see this year (that are not the blockbusters we hear about over and over again), a reminder about the really cool art show going on in Brooklyn over the next few weeks, a look into the real life petition that was sent to the White House requesting that they create a Death Star and the awesome response it generated, Dungeons & Dragons joins the 21st century via the net, and the boobies... you know we gotta bring the boobies out!!!! Enjoy the links after the jump, and make sure you check back here weekly for more cool things from around the Net...

1) While we are inundated with info about movies with mega budgets and formulaic plots month after month, often times the best movies of the year fly under the radar until they are released and then get nominated for some awards. I already am hearing news about Avengers 2 (which doesn't even get released for another 2.5 years and hasn't even shot a frame yet!), but I didn't here a peep about a wonderful movie like John Dies At The End until a week before its release.  Cinema Blend lays out 5 good looking flicks for us to look for this year, and the list offers many different genre choices so there is something for everyone. I will be seeing all of these...

2) Bottleneck galleries in Brooklyn is making it happen in 2013, and this time the show they are running is celebrating all the mechanization that make the movies we love work so well. Gizmos & Gadgets take a look at all the cool technology, weapons, and robotics in movies like Ghostbusters, Alien, Inspector Gadget, Star Wars, It Came From Outer Space  and many more. The show runs till February 3rd and you can clcik here to go to their site and see what is being shown. Try to get out there and support local galleries and the pop culture artists making cool pieces. tell em Mike from CCD sent ya...

3) The White House was petitioned to build a Death Star. The petition was hysterical and can be viewed here. But the best part of this story has to be the official White House response to the request. This is absolutely fantastic. Your tax dollars at work ladies and gentleman...

4) Get in your time machines and flashback to the late 70s/early 80s and the table at which you used to play role playing games. Dungeons and Dragons is going full on digital, putting all of its manuals, rule books and modules that were ever issued online available for download. The upside: Some of these books are upwards of 30+ years old and can't be physically found anymore and now you can download them for a few bucks each. Plus they are PDFs, so you can keyword search instead of reading through pages looking for certain stuff. The downside: We can't find our old crew to raid a dungeon with!!!!

5) I'm getting a bit hungry... maybe I'll have some Asian today!!! The Chive has a killer gallery of 35 of the hottest Asian kumquats you have ever seen in your life, so if you are in mood from some Far eastern sexiness that can rock Jordans, small skimpy tops & bottoms, and do your math homework than this is the gallery for you!!!
