Marvel Tightens Up Their Back Stories With Short Clips To Be Featured On Upcoming DVD's

I truly like the strategy that Marvel has employed weaving together the world that will be on display in next summers blockbuster film 'The Avengers'. The after-the-credit vignettes have done a wonderful job getting us ready for what would happen next on the laundry list of films that had to come first to properly set up 'The Avengers'. (Continued after the jump)

But now Marvel plans to expand the back stories even further by including short films called Marvel One Shots on the upcoming DVD/Blu-Ray releases of 'Thor' and 'Captain America: The First Avenger'. Even though I heard about this development awhile back (the info was released at the San Diego Comic Con) from the guys over at /Film, this is the first opportunity most of us have to see the clip that will be included on the 'Thor' release later this week. I present to you 'The Consultant', which ties some loose ends between The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, and The Avengers.

There will be other Marvel One Shot shorts in the future, including one entitled 'A Funny Thing Happened On The Way to Thor's Hammer' that is sure to appear on the 'Captain America: The First Avenger' DVD/Blu Ray release later this fall.  What do you guys think of Marvel's strategy in tying up all the films in order to make The Avengers more cohesive?  Please tell us in the comment section below.
