Clooney & Angelina To Play Sinatra & Monroe.... Sexy,Sexy!!!

This is one of the last photos taken of Marilyn Monroe before her death. She is hugging Frank Sinatra, and their relationship has long been a topic of interest amongst fans of both of these icons. Well there is a new book coming out in December called The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog & His Friend, Marilyn Monroe by Andrew O'Hagan that will tell Monroe's poodle Mafia Honeys version of the events of her life. The dog was a gift from Sinatra, so he should figure prominently in the book. As with most books these days that are highly anticipated, the film rights have already been optioned. The movie will probably begin filming sometime next year, and they are discussing George Clooney as Frank and Angelina Jolie as Marilyn. Now, I can deal with Clooney as Frankie Baby, but Jolie as Monroe... uh, I'm not so sure. I would go younger, with my choice being Scarlett Johanson. Check out my visual evidence:

Now thats a role she is destined to play.... Either way, I'm looking forward to this project. Who do you think would make a good Frank and Marilyn??? Tell us in the comment section below.

  1. Jolie playing monroe is a fucking sin. Whoever allows this travesty to occur should die a slow and painful fiery death.

  2. Kate,

I agree that Jolie wouldn't be an optimal choice, but I don't think she is that bad. She is a pretty good actress and has made some good movies (The Changeling, Original Sin, Gia, The Bone Collector, Girl Interupted)where she shows she can act. Honestly speaking, Monroe was gorgeous but she kinda stunk as an actress. She mostly got cast for her looks and is usally the worst actress in the movies she is in, but gets a ton of shine because she was beautiful and died young. Who do you think would make a better Monroe besides Angelina or Scarlett??? I am interested to hear your choices.

  3. Honestly speaking, I just don't like Jolie. I don't care about her good movies. She just seems like a really attractive asshole. Maybe most actors are just that..but she is just so blatant about it. And I know what Monroe was. I didn't say anything about her being an incredible actress. She was, however, an icon. The fact that she is more megan fox than katherine hepburn escapes no one. But her reality was complex. I think scarlett is probably the best option. She's young and has some acting chops.. and the look obviously. January Jones maybe? I just don't want angelina and her "I am so worldly and carefree" arrogance anywhere near my marilyn.

Not necessarily sure about clooney either... hasn't he already played a role made famous by sinatra? Why should he play him now? Seems like a cop out.

  4. True, true... I like where your going Kate. i wasn't disagreeing with you, thats for sure. I just wanted to know who you thought. January Jones is a good choice, maybe evenCharlize Theron... not sure. I also agree with the Clooney thing. I like him in the lower level stuff he has been doing (Burn After Reading, The Men Who Stared At Goats, Syrianna, etc)great movies that aren't blockbusters. I think maybe a younger looking ginzo actor like Chris Imperioli from the Sopranos should play Frank in his 30's and 40's, when the movie takes place... I don't know. Love your comments though. Definetly see where you are coming from. See ya soon...

  6. I liked Michelle Williams when she played Marilyn and Me. She was really good I wasn't sure at first but she did a great job.

  8. After reading previous comments, I finally arrived at "that is definitely not frank sinatra". Wonder how nobody else has mentioned such an obvious error. In fact, that set of photos at Cal-Neva Lodge includes a similar shot but with Sinatra sitting behind them.
