Lionsgate is a Canadian independent film production/distribution company that just so happens to be the most successful mini-major studio in North America. It has been key in the development of some of the greatest franchises over the last 20 years... think Twilight, Hunger Games, Saw, etc. But it has always been a key contributor to the horror genre, and boy have they added some classics through the years. American Psycho, Hostel, the many Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboots (I would argue they are the BEST reboots out of all the horror reboots), High Tension, The Midnight Meat Train, You're Next, The aforementioned Saw films, Cabin In The Woods and House of a 1,000 Corpses/The Devil's Rejects are just a few of the banging horror movies that Lionsgate have put out over the last 25 years. So when it came time for the people who control Lionsgate's Instagram/Facebook accounts (they have a ton of FBook accounts for each specific movie and their Instagram covers all their releases), they dug deep into their own personal character archive to compile a 'Who's Who' list of the most heinous monsters & madman for a fake movie entitled 'Fright Club'! What a great idea... take some of the worst baddies ever and have them take on innocent victims in a winner take all fight club type of setting... I WOULD WATCH THE SHIT OUT OF THAT! They tapped Patrick Bateman, the horned helmet dude from Hostel, Jigsaw, Otis, Leatherface, the ballerina girl from Cabin in the Woods, as well as a few more (I think those little kids under Bateman are from The Strangers, but I could be wrong)... oh, and is that the famous Leprechaun lurking in the shadows??? A great idea for a perfect April Fools joke. The coolest thing for an April Fools joke is if people truly believe it... and just by checking out the comments on the posts you can see just how much people either believe this or wish it could be true! Great work Lionsgate. Check out the full poster after the jump....

My 3 Favorite Scary Movies Of All Time: Cal From The Canadian Cave of Cool Edition
Ever since that scene in Scream where Ghostface asks Ms Barrymore that same question people have been asking each other it with regularity. Actually, I'm pretty sure they have been asking each other that since the beginning of film itself. Scary movies are just so easy to talk about... and so easy to form an opinion of. For many reasons they are the genre of movies that you can point to and say "Yup, these are the ones I LOVE!!!" In honor of CCD's 1st annual All Horror Week, we decided to highlight some of our contributors and friends 3 favorite scary/horror movies of all time. These may not be the best, but they are each person's FAVORITE, so these lists should be quite fun. Here we go!
Cal is a great friend of the CCD family and runs one of the all time best websites on the whole net... this guy keeps us coming back for more everyday. So what if he likes kittens, adores Selena Gomez, and hates octopi with every inch of his moral fiber... whats so strange about that? My man Cal is good peoples as far as I am concerned, so we wanted to include him in our CCD All Horror Week. He has contributed some excellent cat pics with captions pertaining to serial killers (they are hysterical!), and now he checks in with his 3 favorite scary movies. Live, from the tundra, here come Cal's picks:
The first SAW movie was hypnotic to watch. Totally original and actually plausible if someone was psycho and mad at you enough...plus after a hour of keeping me riveted to the screen you discover that Jigsaw was THERE THE WHOLE TIME!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
SILENCE OF THE LAMBS (1991) - the unbelievable weight of dread hung over this movie. Not only was Buffalo Bill terrifying but knowing that all it took was a SINGLE PAPER CLIP to allow Lecter to escape was more than I could bear. Not only did he get out but he left his calling card behind. Anyone that smart and that many moves ahead of the authorities is terrifying to me.
The first HALLOWEEN. We all forget how few movies actually has a supernaturally evil and indestructible serial killer in them. This was the granddaddy of the all. The way his facial expression never changed and how he sat up when we thought the terror was over changed my life. I really try to avoid those kinds of movies to this day.

My 3 Favorite Scary Movies Of All Time: Sam James Edition

Next to check in with their scary movie picks is our foreign correspondent Sam James. Sam is usually at home down in Jamaica (where in Jamaica??? Down by the beach!!!!) and living it up in the sun, but every once in a blue my boy finds his way here to NYC. He was most recently here for the 2010 NYC Comic Con and is responsible for most of the filming that was done at that show. Sam has been a longtime friend of mine and we have seen literally thousands of movies together.... when my man talks, everybody should better listen up. He knows his movie shit kid!!!! With no further ado, here is my brother from a darker mothers 3 favorite scary movies:
Se7en (1995) - I know it doesn't fit the classic definition of horror, but I love the premise! The 7 Deadly Sins have been such a cool theme for so many Halloween costumes (by that I mean groups of hot chicks working the theme), gotta give props to the movie that gave them that pop culture presence. "What's in the booooox"?
Saw (2004) - I love this one cuz if a guy was smart enough, had the money and was a psychotic f*ck it COULD happen! That alone is enough to make you lose sleep and wanna know on your parents bedroom door cuz you had a nightmare!
The Ring (2002) - Bottom line: Kids (and clowns) are FREAKY!!! Be them ghost, zombie, vampire or whatever the f*ck that chick was! After I saw it in the theater (with you as a matter of fact) I had to call someone to stay on the phone while I drove home cause the turnpike was EXTRA dark and lonely and I was freaked the f*ck out!

The Saw 3-D Panel @ 2010 NYC Comic Con Takes Us Into Jigsaw's World One Last Time
Russell also walked the line. I asked her where she thinks the Saw franchise sits in the history of film franchise, and she said "Were #1... we got the record for most money made, so that's that." That's not really what I meant... your movies came out years after other franchises when ticket prices were higher and in an era where Horror films are revered and promoted, not regaled to a small amount of screens. Of course you will make more money. I wanted to know how SHE felt about HER FRANCHISE stacked up. Neither would answer ANY QUESTIONS about the upcoming movie. The whole panel was kinda meh... until the press lady called "Last Question". Some kid asked Elwes the question of the day: "Cary... how many times have you been asked about the Princess Bride today?". This brought a smile to Elwes face, and made everyone laugh. He said its an honor to be revered for a film that came out so long ago and he really appreciates all the fans of Wesley and the rest of the Princess Bride crew. The panel concluded, and Russell and Elwes moved into the other room. Next up, Costas Mandylor & director Kevin Greutert.
Mandylor walked in wearing a Yankee jersey and Yankee skully, which automatically scored points in my book. Him and Greutert walked in laughing and smiling, and sat down ready to talk. The 2nd panel went much differently. Mandylor is refreshing to hear talk, as he curses and reveals some cool behind the scenes info. When I asked him his favorite movie in the series and his favorite kill, he was quick to answer and revealed that he loved Saw 5 cause of the direction his character took and the pendulum kill from Saw V as his faves. He also told some cool stories of how he is a jokester on the set and fucks with everybody that is in the traps in between takes. He said he kept tickling the kid on the table with the pendulum on his face, and the kid couldn't defend himself because he was strapped into the table to give the illusion of being cut in half. It was the kind of behind the scenes stuff you want to hear from a panel... not the blah stuff that came out in the first half. Greutert went on to provide lots of insightful tips about the film while at the same time nor revealing much. I especially liked how he described the use of 3-D in the flm and how it was made for a movie like Saw to use. I hope its as intriguing as he made t sound. He assured us that this was it, no more Saw fims... I don't know how I feel about this, since studios are greedy and will probably greenlight another one in the future. All in all, a much better panel than the first. Costas was even nice enough to take a picture with Sam and I. Saw 3-D opens next Friday, October 29th, and I am kinda excited since it was originally given a NC-17 rating and took 6 times to come in as an R. So its sure to be bloody and full of gore. Make sure you check it out, a perfect way to start the Halloween weekend!!!

Alright Fellas, Lets Bring This One Home...
I know its hard to believe, but its been 7 years since Saw roared into the movies right before Halloween 2004 and blew our minds out the back of our heads. Jigsaw has become a part of the Horror movie icons list that includes guys like Freddy, Jason, and Mike Myers... like anything else, if you have 6 movies in a series there are bound to be a few ups and downs. There is no denying that the series always brings the gore, and this final 3-D effort is sure to be no different. In fact, this movie is set to feature 11 traps... 11!!! I hope that the people behind this film knock it out the park and bring this series to the wonderful conclusion that it deserves... until it's rebooted sometime in the future!!! Check out this crazy trailer right here and make sure you send the Saw franchise off in style by attending the film in the theater on October 29th.
