Sucker Punch Promo Posters... I Love An All Female Cast, Don't You???

So lots of cool stuff is coming out of San Diego, but one of the things that I am most excited for would have to be items from Zack Snyder's upcoming opus, Sucker Punch. I am a big fan of all of Snyder's past movies, especially 300 and Watchmen. I thought he did a great job adapting those comics to the big screen, which was no small task. Sucker Punch is Snyder's first foray into directing one of his own original ideas, as the story was written by him and Steve Shibuya.

The story follows the young girl Baby Doll (Emily Browning, above poster) and her confinement in a mental institution. In 5 days she will be labotmized, on the request of her prick stepdad. She creates a dreamlike world in which she needs to collect 5 items that will help her escape the institution back in the real world. In this dreamscape, she will encounter tons of fantastical creatures and technological marvels, and she will be assisted by some of her fellow inmates at the asylum. Snyder describes the movie as "Alice in Wonderland with machine guns." How can that be bad. Add in a crazy female cast with some real hotties (Vanessa Hudgens, Jenna Malone, Carla Gugino, Jaime Chung, Emily Browning) and you got my interest peaked. So this brings us to Comic Con 2010. Snyder plans on showing some footage for the film thats been shot, and he has issued the following six character posters for the girls of the movie. Take a look at the additional 5:

Oh Flynn, where have you been my whole life? Well, not my whole life... basically since 1982... 28 years? It's been 28 years? This guy has got to be considered the absolute worst dad ever, no? 3 Questions About The Newly Released Captain America & Thor Posters

So I saw these two pieces of Concept Art/ Promo Posters that have been released for San Diego Comic Con 2010 on about a billion websites yesterday (Yeah Cal, I jacked your pic... what you wanna do about it??? LOL) So instead of just re-posting the posters and saying "oh, look how cool these are" after all the other sites that I love have already done it, I decided on a different approach. I analyzed the two posters, and I have a few questions. Here they are. Feel free to add your own questions in the comment section below... or better yet, try to answer my 3. Thanks, hope you enjoy...

   So it would appear that Marvel is going to go with a traditional round shield for Cap (as opposed to the Ultimate version), but is that a handgun in Cap's hand? I know they plan on showing him in World War II, but a gun drawn in the first poster seems a bit much, no? I was trying to think back to when I was a kid and read The Avengers religously, and I can never recall Cap with a gun.

   Did Loki always have a spear as his main weapon? Is this Loki's weapon like Thor has his hammer? Again, I am a bit removed from actaul comic reading, but I can not recall Loki having a giant kick ass spear.

   I feel like the backgrounds play a huge part in both posters. In Cap's, it seems they are in war-torn Europe. In Thor's, it seems like they are in that in-between realm that exists between Asgard and Earth. Do you think these climatic scenes will actually be on the big screen in the movies, or just being used in the concept art?

So thats my questions... whose gonna help me with some answers????

6 Photographic Reasons To Be Excited For The Green Lantern Movie

When it was announced that Ryan Reynolds would be portraying Hal Jordan/ Green Lantern in the movie adaption of the DC comic book, I was psyched. Reynolds is great in everything he does. I, like most computer obssesed nerds, began eagerly anticipating set shots and costume photos to see how the production was going, like the one above with Reynolds and his ring.. But since they have decided to Mo-Cap the whole suit, all we have gotten is Ryan Reynolds running around with a bunch of light bulbs attached to some spandex:

But since Comic Con is right around the corner, all types of great stuff has been leaking onto the intrawebs. First up, we have Reynolds and co-star Blake Lively, who will be playing Hal Jordan's love interest.

Next up, we got three pics featuring Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond both before and after he is exposed to the alien Abin Sur. 

And finally, we have the most recent cover of Entertainment Weekly, which features Reynolds in his full on computer generated suit... awesome!!!
