Cal's Favorite Christmas Song!!!

I ran a cool Throwback Thursday yesterday featuring the favorite Christmas Songs from some of my closest family and friends. I gathered this info via email. Unfortunately, one arrived a bit late. That would be my good buddy from the Great White North, Cal from the Cave of Cool!!! He sent me his pick, and since I love his blog so much he gets his very own post. Here's what he had to say:

I like the Chipmunk Song for the 'HOOLA HOOP' part...as far traditional songs go I like Silver Bells because I can imagine the scene. For a weirder choice I like the Boney M Christmas Album and that Little Drummer Boy/Piece on Earth thing did by David Bowie and Bing Crosby. Now that is the most unlikely combination that there ever was at holiday time.

As complex and well thought out as usual... thats why we love ya Cal!!! Well, here you go buddy. Hope you enjoy... and Merry Christmas to all my Canadian Brothers & Sisters!!!

Throwback Thursday - 12/16/2010 - Christmas Classics Vol #1 - Mike D Edition

Since it is the Christmas Season, I figured I would share my favorite Christmas Songs with you guys. These are the ones that I love the best because they evoke the best Christmas memories of my life. Here we go... Mr. Mike D's favorite Christmas Songs!!!

The Royal Guardsman - Christmas Bells (Snoopy vs The Red Baron)

This is probably my favorite Christmas song ever... it reminds me of my childhood so much! Any group that works Snoopy into their song will surely score points with any 80's babies.... especially me!!!

 

Bing Crosby & David Bowie - Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth

One of the most awkward partnerings in the history of music, this duet works extremely well. I love this rendition of this song, and I love the video for it. Wonderful... just wonderful!



Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas

One of the greatest modern Christmas songs of all time... and just look at her in this video!!!



The Chipmunks - The Christmas Song

This song reminds me of my sister Oona... opening gifts, playing with toys, and listening to this song on a record that she had. God I miss her more & more each year... love you sis, R.I.P. OD!!!



Lou Monte - Dominick, The Italian Christmas Donkey

If you are an Italian, you know this song was a part of Christmas growing up... you gotta love Lou Monte!!!
